Sensei Robertson Discusses Yoshukan
Sensei Robertson recently announced he and his association
will be creating their own new, and distinct, karate association
- the Yoshukan Karate Association. Sensei Robertson addresses
a number of student questions in this newsletter: |
| |
Q: How will our system change?
A: It won't. We have always practiced a hybrid
system here in Canada based on the best from Yoshukai and
Chito Ryu. This won't change.
Q: Will our grading standards change?
A: They won't. Canada has always had its own grading standards
and will continue to use the existing standards as described in your
technical manuals.
Q: What is the name of our new association?
A: Our new association is named the Yoshukan
Karate Association
Q: Will my fees be affected?
A: Yes, they will go down. Annual student fees will be reduced
from $23 to $20. Black Belt fees will go from $33 to $30.
Q: How do the senior teachers in our system feel about the change?
A: I encourage you to speak with each of the senior teachers to get
their perspectives directly. However, I can tell you that each
of the senior teachers has given me their full support and encouraged
me to move in this direction.
Q: What will happen to our Technical Manuals and passports?
A: Nothing. You will continue to use them as required. Stickers
with our new association logo will be supplied at the summer camp and
can be affixed on top of the Yoshukai logo.
Conversion packages will also be available for any student that wishes
to purchase:
New Crest; Technical Manual; Passport Stickers and Lapel Pin.
